Today I'm a farmer. Although, the boxes in the back of the truck are the drive shoes I picked up at the greyhound station earlier this morning. Maybe that means I'm always a well driller... Anyway, who doesn't like a good cattle drive? Our animals summered at the neighbours place and it was time to bring them home. Fortunately it all went smooth. They followed the truck home and were happy to be in the field now that the hay is all cut and baled. Thunder, our escape artist bull, even joined the herd on the way.
Apparently we do things a little different in southern BC. We were accused of being from the city this summer by a little boy who noticed we didn't have horses or wear wranglers or cowboy boots. We happen to think that dirt bikes and side-by-sides are more fun. Wranglers aren't really that comfortable and steel toes work boots are way more practical. But, what do we know... The rain hadn't started yet, lucky for us. It was a beautiful morning to enjoy the fall colours on Sidley. |
Come'on cows!!

Tomorrow I'll be a water well driller again. Well, I might wait until Monday...
